A small school that thinks big

School and community links

The school plays an important role within the community.  Members of the local community are invited to attend school performances and events such as our termly tea room, Burns Supper and Soup and Sandwich organised by the staff, children and our Parent Council.

The school benefits from links with local industries and voluntary bodies all of which help to further the children’s understanding when undertaking Interdisciplinary Learning, with a local focus. We actively engage members of the community to work in partnership with our children, offering their expertise and developing skills in various areas of the curriculum.

The children take part in many community events and contribute to competitions run by local businesses and societies.  The pupils lead a carol singing event each year at Kilmun Village Hall which is supported by our community.

The school has a supportive Parent Council who are keen to be involved in every area of school life.  We have close links with the local churches and are visited regularly by our local minister.
